Quality home care from Australian Home Care Support Workers
When you receive services from Australian Home Care, we make sure you get the best possible support, tailored to your needs and lifestyle. We also make sure that these services are provided when you need them, by a caring Support Worker who is well-trained in caring for people who have similar needs to yours.
Australian Home Care is one of Australia's largest providers of home care services, and we have the experience to provide this high quality of care. We employ more than 2,900 Support Workers, who help over 4,000 care recipients, just like you, to live as independently as possible.
Each and every person who receives our services has a Support Worker who is personally matched to their needs, along with a Support Plan that is tailored to their individual needs.
Our people
Before someone becomes an Australia Home Care Support Worker, we undertake extensive screening to make sure they're right for the job. We then give them the training they need to become an outstanding Support Worker, and continue to keep their training up-to-date throughout their career.
Each of our Support Workers is personally supported by a network of Australian Home Care Service Coordinators and Care Managers, who are located in 18 regional offices throughout Victoria and New South Wales. Having Support Workers, Service Coordinators and Care Managers spread widely across the two states means that everyone involved in providing services is located as close as possible to our care recipients’ home and local community.
Our responsiveness and reliability
Our caring services are available to those who need them, when they need them – 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
When a referral to a new care recipient comes to us, we firstly work to create an individual Care Recipient Profile and Support Plan. These are prepared in consultation with the care recipient, their family and where relevant, their treating health professional team, to ensure that we fully understand the person’s needs and desires.
Support Plans are tailored to the needs of each individual – we aim to ensure care recipients are supported in a safe manner, in ways that are relevant to their lives and lifestyle and within the available funding.
We continually monitor our services to make sure care recipients receive quality, sensitive, private and reliable care.
Our quality systems and certification
Australian Home Care has an extensive Quality Management System, addressing the provision of personal care, home care/domestic assistance and supported accommodation services. To maintain the suitability of the system, and as a basis for continual improvement, we have our system certified against a number of standards. These include ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, and AS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems: 2001, across all our locations; the Attendant Care Industry Management System Standard: 2008; in NSW. We are currently in the process of certification to the Standard for Disability Services, Victoria: 2007; for our Victorian operations.
Your feedback helps us improve
We regularly seek face-to-face and written
feedback from our care recipients and funding bodies. This feedback helps us to identify areas that we can improve on, and to continue giving the highest possible quality of support to our care recipients.
