At Australian Home Care Services, we’re proud of our Code of Conduct.  It helps us create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable workplace for all and a solid foundation for delivering quality care to our clients.

Our Code of Conduct sets out the common set of values and rules about how we are expected to behave at work.  It was developed to help all employees, volunteers and agency staff understand how our legal, moral and ethical standards can be achieved every day through our behaviours and choices.

HR Business Partner with AHCS, Tracy Shoshan, says the Code of Conduct is not just a document that lies dormant in a folder on a shelf somewhere.

She says it is a living document that “walks through the corridors” of the organisation.  “It’s accessible, easy to understand and it’s relevant to staff across all parts of AHCS.”

The Code was updated in recent years and forms a key part of both staff training and induction for new starters.  “It’s a go-to document.  As a mandatory, core piece it sets the scene and shapes how we conduct ourselves, from the coalface right through to our internal corporate staff,” Tracy explains.

The Code of Conduct covers all aspects of work within AHCS to ensure all staff act in the best interests of our clients, our colleagues and our parent company, Multiple Sclerosis Limited.

The Code of Conduct also articulates our core values, which Tracy observes also represent AHCS well.
