NDIS rollout continues throughout Australia
Posted 30 Jun 2017
The beginning of a new financial year sees the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) continue its rollout across the country, and we’re using our expertise to smooth the way for our clients as they make the transition.
From tomorrow, Australian Home Care Services’ clients in the NSW regions of South Eastern Sydney, Sydney, Far West District, Illawarra Shoalhaven, Mid North Coast, Murrumbidgee, Northern NSW and Western NSW will begin their NDIS journey with us.
Meanwhile, our Victorian clients in the regions of Inner Gippsland, Ovens Murray and Wimmera South West will make the shift from 1 October this year, followed by the regions of Inner Eastern Melbourne and Outer Eastern Melbourne on 1 November this year.
Because of the scale of the change, the NDIS is being rolled out progressively around Australia until mid-2019. Existing Commonwealth and state or territory-based services and supports will continue until eligible people start to receive supports from the NDIS.
Our National Business Development Manager Christine Challis says, “We began working with clients in the NDIS trial sites in Barwon and the Hunter right back in 2013 and we’re continuing to work with more and more NDIS clients all the time.”
“We understand that clients need support to make the transition to the NDIS so we’ve been very deliberate in engaging clients six months before their transition date with information about the planning process and a checklist to focus their thinking on their current supports and aspirational goals.”
“Our disability services experience means we’re well-placed to take the NDIS journey with our clients, whatever their age or ability.”
